Organic and Coordination Chemistry
Research Fields:
Chemistry
Previous and Current Research
We are focused on synthesis and investigation of 1,2,4-triazoles, containing functional groups. Investigation of their coordination properties, particularly with copper, palladium, platinum, ruthenium. Title complexes are investigating in context of their magnetic, catalytic properties and bioactivity. It was find that copper and palladium complexes are promising as catalysts of important organic reactions, whereas platinum and ruthenium have shown cytotoxic activity.
Future Projects and Goals
Due to promising results obtained during investigation of catalytic and anticancer activities we will move to improving of ligand systems to obtain substances with higher activity.
Methodological and Technical Expertise
- Synthesis of proligands and coordination compounds
- All experimental approaches for characterization of organic and coordination compounds: single crystal and powder X-ray analysis; IR, heteronuclear NMR and UV-VIS spectroscopy; Mass spectrometry.
- Investigation of cytotoxic activity of compounds
- Investigation of catalytic processes forced by new catalysts
