General Relativity, Relativistic Astrophysics and Cosmology
Research Fields:
Physics
Astronomy
Previous and Current Research
- Two-body problem in relativistic dynamics and General Relativity
- Relativistic shock waves in anomalous media
- Relativistic reference frames
- Quasars and active galactic nuclei
- Gravitational microlensing in galactic and extragalactic systems
- Scalar field models in relativistic cosmology
We worked out qualitative and approximate methods in various fields of general relativity and relativistic dynamics, such as the problem of motion of the relativistic dynamics taking into account the retardation of interactions, theory of relativistic shock waves in case of a general equation of state (including anomalous media), theory of wave propagation in curved space-times, analytical and statistical methods in gravitational microlensing.
Current activity deals with models of relativistic astrophysical objects and highly relativistic astrophysical phenomena. One of the key directions concerns the observational manifestations of the dark matter and dark energy, which together make up about 95 percent of the average mass density in the Universe.
Future Projects and Goals
Search for the observational manifestations of the dark matter and dark energy
Methodological and Technical Expertise
Gravitational Microlensing, the scalar field models of the Dark Energy, relativistic processes in active galactic nuclei, the Dark Matter.
