Germanic languages and translation in the cross-cultural context

Previous and Current Research

Îur studies are aimed at establishing the model for a holistic description of different processes in the Germanic languages, researching the lexical system of the languages under analysis, highlighting the peculiarities of the language perception and categorization, studying the translation paths in the cross-cultural context. We are interested in treating all the linguistic problems from a viewpoint of interdisciplinary and synergetic approach, dwelling upon the differences and similarities revealed, observing the regularities of the language development as a whole.

Future Projects and Goals

Ecolinguistics and media ecology, research of the manipulative strategies in mass media and translations; interdisciplinary synergetic approaches to linguistic and translational studies in the cross-cultural context.

Methodological and Technical Expertise

  •  Linguistic and comparative linguo-cultural analyses
  • All approaches for providing systematic linguistic analysis of the lexical system of the Germanic languages, their terminological system and morphosyntactic peculiarities
  • Discourse analysis, research of the European legal standards, interdisciplinary approaches revealing main translation paths and techniques in different types of text
